Create 2.1.3 Using Web 2.0 Tools to Differentiate Student Assessment

Web 2.0 Tools are a great modern way to assess student's mastery.


See the example below of a lesson plan that allows students to show mastery on the topic of Digital Citizenship.




DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP PROJECT                                                               IT-IDT-5

After the unit on Digital Citizenship, students will demonstrate understanding of digital citizenship by creating a story to present to younger kids to teach them about digital citizenship.

Directions:

·Research Digital Citizenship

·Take notes using this handout. Select one of the topics. Use the notes to create a story to present this information to younger students.

·Select a Web 2.0 tool such as ToonDoo, ZooBurst, GoAnimate, xtranormal, (3D storytelling animation software) to tell and illustrate your story.

Topics (take notes on all topics):

Importance of Internet Safety

Basic terminology: Example: social networking, podcasting, twitter

Digital Etiquette

Online rules & behavior: blogs, cell phones, inappropriate content, gaming

Safety Tips

Safety Pledges

Cyberbullying

Danger of the Internet: Example: real life stories...

Your online image: Protecting Your Online Identity and Information/Privacy--revealing too much content, consequences of unintended audiences viewing their social network profiles

Passwords
Save the above notes in your student folder as digital_citizenship_notes_yourlastname.

Choose the platform you feel most comfortable with, create your storybook.  E-mail the finished book to your teacher at carrollll@troup.org
